HEARTSAVER FIRST AID: The St. John's Mercy Hospital Heartsaver First Aid class teaches the skills to effectively assess and maintain life until emergency medical workers arrive. AUTISM: Autism Education and Support Services hosts classes at the Center for Autism Education, 105 Crossings Industrial Court in O'Fallon. Classes include Understanding Autism, 6-8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month, and Strategies for Challenging Behaviors, 6-8 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month. These classes are designed for parents, grandparents, baby sitters, friends or other family members who want to learn more about autism. Cost is $30 per class. To register, call 636-978-4951.

Screening
EYE SCREENINGS: 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 12 at the University of Missouri Extension Center, 107 W. Walton in Warrenton. Free screenings for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, malformations or malfunctions of the eye and other vision problems.
